Chevy c1500

Alright so i have this 91' Chevy c1500
single cab pick up right and runs fantastic
but as soon as it hits 50 recently its just
been choking like it just revs after 50 and
will not go nomore some say its the tranny
some say the gears and messed up and i
just dont really know what the problem is

Could be a lot of things, but we would be just guessing on this, could be the catalytic converter starting to get plugged up, could be a problem with the trany. Should just take it to a garage and have it checked out.
