Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a really odd question i have a 1997 chevrolet K1500 4X4 with the 5.7 350 and the
4L60-E tranny the truck runs and drives fine in 2wd. however when i use 4X4 HI the
transmission doesn't shift properly its almost as if it shifts to early causing bog and at
WOT it will not kick down a gear or 2 it remains in that same gear and struggles. if i
manually shift the gears all is fine.. although this is not good for the transmission and id
much rather just fix the problem. i should also add sometimes it runs fine then all the
sudden bam.. starts running like a bag... take it out of 4X4HI runs normal put it back in
runs good for a while then starts messing up again.

take a floorjack with a woodblock..place it under the oil pan....jack it up...when the motor mount separates and you can see that it has been doin' that for a while...get some new mounts...ain't that difficult a job and the shifter will be aligned properly~

not that im disagreeing with you because i do know for a fact that my truck needs motor mounts but that could be causing all the problems?... and if it is the motor mounts why is it that when i switch the gears manually everything works fine but when i use the auto it messes up? if you could explain id appreciate it but i will be picking up new motor mounts on payday
