what does one use to scan an obd 1 ? 94 buick. does it have an internal code
reader like caddy ?  if not will someone give me an answer . have an ob 2 scan
but wont read. cant seem to find  MALE obd2 [16 pin] to FEMALE [12 pin]  gm
adapters.

You would need the proper scanner to read OBD1 codes. Not all scanners are capable of reading OBD1 codes. There is another way to read OBD1 codes. Check this sight out... http://www.theimportkiller.com/forums/index.php?topic=420.0
