break caliber broke off when i got a flat tire

one of my break calibers came off when i got a flat tire. ive drove my buick lasabre 2004 for a fee days now. it stops but i have to press the pedal all the way to the floor. i can and seen a family memeber outta town. but there telling me my breaks will fully fail anytime now. i just want to make it home. will i make it ?

They are right about a complete brake failure at this point so don't drive it...have it towed and repaired. The flat tire must have hit the brake caliper and broke it off of both mounting pins. You might be lucky and they can remount the caliper on the two new caliper pins. And that is why the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. The caliper off it's mounts and the disc rotor, the caliper piston has not pads or rotor to squeeze against, thus allowing the brake pedal to hit the floor.....very unsafe deal. You don't have to understand it....you just have to be convinced it's broken and unsafe to keep driving it that way. And I just learned that cremation is a lot cheaper than a full blown funeral. I hope that helps.

Damn, you are really pushing your luck, stop wherever you are and get it TOWED to a shop, your breaks can fail completely at any moment. Do it for the sake of the other drivers you share the road with!
