Start but won't stay running

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It will start and move but will only stay on when my
feet is on the gas petal. As soon as my feet is off
the gas petal the car cuts off

sounds like a bad IAC valve , of course these things should be tested so you don't spend money needlessly , try cleaning the port that valve sits in

Could also be a vacuum leak. With a vacuum leak the car will not idle because it is getting too much air in relation to fuel. Some of the simple causes are cracked, broken, or disconnected vacuum lines around the top of the engine....do a visual inspection......or mist starter fluid around the lines and if you spray an area where the leak is...the engine will pick up speed
