Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't start. No crank, no sound, nothing. Battery is good. Security Light
stays on and does not go out during the Pass-Key III 30 minute re-learn
procedure (which didn't work). Which additional components should be checked
and where are they located? Any suggestions or help?

No, it isn't flashing. Here's what happens: I put key into ignition and attempt to start car. Nothing happens (no crank, no sound, no lights on dashboard) and when I return key to "ON" position (and leave it in that position) the dash lights come on, along with the radio. At this point, as the dash lights come on, the "Security" light isn't lit. However, usually within 30-60 seconds it will come on and remain on until I turn key to off. Recently, while attempting to do a Pass-Key III 30 minute re-learn, I finally turned key to "OFF" position when, after 35 minutes the "Security" light was still on (This was on what would have been the first of the three "10 minute" parts).

Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes. What about the "Theft Control Module" that encircles the ignition? Should that be replaced at same time?

Since my last post, I have replaced both the Ignition Switch and the Theft Control Module. Neither replacement part has fixed my problem. Still no crank, no start and when I return key to ON position after attempting to start, all dash lights come on (including the SECURITY light) then the SECURITY light goes out. It comes back on at approximately 1 minute and remains lit until key is turned off (It does not go off at 10 minutes) Any suggestions?

Did you put an aftermarket stereo in.... If so that most likely tripped the security light, happened to me with mine. With the key in an on acc try to take out the stereo (check harness for cracked/exposed wires while you do so) and reinstall it with the key in same position.... worked for me and if that don't work and you have the original one stereo put it back in with the key on acc and it should turn off!!!

Getting the same thing here. Had to replace key and ignition switch last year because the car would be dead for weeks. Now I can use for a week at a time, get in to start in the morning and it will not start or turn over but the security light comes on. I wait until the end of the day and it starts right up. Any thoughts?
