Why do my brakes not want to stop my car?

My car had front brakes and new pads on it plus a sensor but the pedal is still
stiff and the brakes barely make the car stop. Why is this happening?

Try bleeding the brakes first, if that doesn't help, then check the brake booster, you might not have vacuum pressure.
