In distributorless ingition systems such as the one used in your 2002 Century, the culprit is most likely a bad sensor such as the the one tracking the crank position. If this sensor isn't transmitting a signal to the PCM (powertrain control module) which is the car's main computer, a no-start condition will result. If your car has high mileage, this is something to definitely look at.
