Check coolant levels, low coolant = lack of heat from heater core. Then check coolant flow - thermostat, radiator cap (or degas bottle cap), water pump, radiator - all need to be in working order. With engine running at temp, grab hold of heater hoses, do they feel pressurized and hot? A restricted radiator or heater core and prevent coolant from flowing through core properly, as does a bad/weak water pump.
