My van has no brakes lights and I pulled the bulbs to check now I am totally dead with what sounds like a relay clicking help me please

Using a test light test at wires,sockets go bad and current doesnt make it to bulb, inspect bulb base to see if there is a melt spot on plastic base on bulb. Solution no voltage to socket, but at wiring cut old socket out as short to socket as possible solder in NEW sockets use shrink wrap (radioshack) if bulb has melt on plastic base replace bulbs.H.T.H feel free to contact me personally if problem persists.
