brake light

what does the brake light indicate? What damage can happen if you keep driving with the light on?

your parking brake is on, or you need work done on the brakes...

Your brake light comes on when your fluid is low...your fluid gets low when your brake pads get worn.
All you need to do is get your brake pads replaced.
