function setting mode

Question type: General

In the 'average fuel consumption and average speed' mode, what is the difference between auto reset and manual reset?  I've driven the car in both modes and it resets to zero after sitting idle for four or more hours in both modes.  I'd like to reset it to zero each time I fill up the gas tank, but it doesn't look like that's possible.  Am I missing something?

I'd pose this question to your dealer service department, they should be able to answer it for free. I had a 1998 Chrysler Sebring with a similar computer (Chrysler and Mitsubishi have worked together for years) and it would only reset when you manually did so.

I bought my 2017 Outlander and the Average MPG was from the day I bought it. Then about 6-8 months later, it started Auto Resetting Automatically. I can choose Manual Mode but after shutting off the car and restarting, Auto Reset is Automatically selected again. This is clearly an issue but the dealer claims it is working fine. It's frustrating because I look at long term average MPG and this now resets every time I shut off the car. Page 82 of the Smartphone Link Display Audio book explains Auto and Manual resets which clearly do not work anymore. Anyone else experiencing this? SAG-OH
