2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara do front and rear tires have to be same size?

Asked by Mike Feb 02, 2019 at 10:05 AM about the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara Base 4WD

Question type: General

I just replaced 2 front tires and could not get same size as the rear. A shop
just told me it can damage my transmission. Is this true?

Do not attempt to use the 4 wheel drive if the front and rear tires are different sizes. This can damage the transfer case because the transfer case is geared for the front and rear axles to be turning the same RPM.
