Charging System

Asked by BScheall Jul 14, 2018 at 07:08 PM about the 2007 Buick Lucerne V8 CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Service charging light came on while i was on the way home. I parked the
car then turned it back on and it wouldn't start. Do i definitely need a new
battery or could it be something else?

Only way to know for sure concerning the battery is to do a load test. The alternator may not be putting out enough current so a meter would have to be used to see what that is putting out when the car is running and under higher rpms.
