Replaced water pump and thermostat. Still blowing cold air and temp gauge rising at idle, please help?

Asked by Pierce Dec 03, 2014 at 10:30 AM about the 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced the water pump and the thermostat and flushed the system. Started the engine and brought it up to normal temp. Turned on the heat and it is still blowing cold air, but the temp gauge rises above normal at idle. What do I need to to now?
