Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Greetings, I have a 2007 Pontiac G5 and the rubber rivets that are holding the
door panels together are now worn to a point, where they are holding. How can
one fix this problem? Thanks

Replace them. It is likely you will find them available in a parts store or on-line.

Thanks for your suggestion. However what's holding the panels together appear to have been a soft rubber substances that was put in place and pressed to flatten out, which then harden. What I did however, was to use a sealant and small flat washers and screws to hold the panels etc. together.

Good trick. I once used plastic bread bag closures to hold door hardware (originally glued) in place while the glue I used set. My car is somewhat older, but it was not screaming for original equipment because I would then have needed to replace the entire interior door panel. The fix worked fine and I'm sure yous will as well.
