Hood cable latch broke, how to open hood?

Neighbor had hood latch cable break. Now can't open hood. Any suggestions how we can get it open?

Depends where cable borke, you just have to cut into housing and pull the cable with pliers. Start inside the car where the lever is and try to see if it broke there. Order a new cable a head of time so once hood is open, just replace it right away
