security light stays on, but car starts and runs fine.2000 park avenue. how do i reset the light to go off. thanks

On this car w passkey 3, you unfortunately need to go to GM dealer. They heed to use specialized scan tool to reset. Receiver on car might be bad. 300.00 part

I tried Js08016's answer and it worked great on my 2000 Buick LeSabre.....turned ignition to run without starting, waited for security light to go out, switched to off position and then immediately started the engine.....security light came on when i started and then after a few seconds, it went off. I had security light stay on. And car would start sometimes and if it didn’t I would wait 4 minutes then it would start. I went to Buick dealer with two additional keys I had bought before in case I lost one . Well they tested and found the key I had been using had a bad chip They tested for other problem but found my other keys worked so they told me to throw bad key away. Have had no problem since
