I have the 2000 s80 t6 executive model. The lighter was pushed through the rear console panel and I don't know how to take the console apart to repair it.

get a screwdriver and start looking for screws. Don't lose any. Taking apart your console should take you an hour maybe and you'll be able to get in there. Don't be afraid when your interior is apart. it will go back together. Most likely start from the center console if there is one. Start unscrewing from the rear to the front. Look for screws hidden behind ashtrays and coin holders. you may have to do a little bit of prying with a flat head screwdriver .Wrap it in a cloth so you don't scratch anything. You can do it!

same thing happened to me - i had to remove the "wood panel" below the area where the lighter was (my wood panel had previously fallen off and was reattached by glue so I just popped it back off) - once that was off, there were two plastic tabs on each side of that lower panel - if you squeeze them together (or possibly push them both out, not sure which way!), that lower panel comes right off - you can then reach right in and re-seat the lighter into that upper area of that back console - Unfortunately every few times my son plugs in for his ipod the plug would push back through - so I try to plug in and leave it rather than plugging and unplugging - I am sure a little glue around the metal on the lighter would hold it but who knows for how long, those plugs fit in pretty tight into the lighter and after a few times it will eventually push back thru!
