my ac compressor  is siezed the car won't start...now can I bypass the compressor and use a different size belt ? or does the unit need to be replaced....

It looks like you may be able to. Do you have the 4 or 6 cylinder engine. Found a pic for the I4 below. The 6 looks like it is possible. Finding a belt of the right lenght is the tricky part with the parts punks refering to their parts computers. I secured my tensioner around it's normal position with the original components then use a string to follow the new route and give me the correct length. Ensure all equipment rotates the correct way.

So what is the belt size I need to get if in gonna bypass the ac compressor???

You can't bypass ac compressor because the tensioner pulley pulls towards the back instead of to the front! It will cause the belt to rub against the top of the tensioner as it rotates to the pulley that sits above it and will break most likely the first or second drive you take if it's any length of drive at all! I'm dealing with this problem as we speak....
