Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Shifts 1 up all the way to 5th with no problem. But if i leave it in neutral and try and put it in 3rd, it wont budge.  Same thing if i try and downshift from 4th to 3rd, it just wont go.  But for some reason shifting from 2nd to 3rd works fine.....i dont know if the clutch isnt engaging all the way of if  the syncro is going out

I'd assume on a 79 that it has a clutch cable, try tightening it a bit and see if that improves the situation.
