Engine light flashing

Idle is rough and on start or just battery the engine light flashes 10-12
times and then stays on. What is the problem?

Flashing check engine light means there is a fault code stored that will quickly point you to the problem. Have it scanned for free at an auto parts store and fix accordingly.
