so my s10 engine light keeps coming on...brought it to mechanic said bad gas cap. 300 miles layer came back on....whats the prob?...got charged prob $75 for gas cap and turn engine light off :(

Go to auto zone or advance and have them run code,s,for free,they will tell you the issue,or tell us code and we will tell you the problem.

your fuel system is pressurized. If the cap does not seal properly, the computer will sense it and throw a code. It is possible that you are not putting your cap on all the way. it should click a couple times when you install it.
