Honda Odyssey Alternator and Transmission Problems

You more than likely have a transmission issue You have one of the models that had plastic parts in the transmission that wears out. Some of these have gone out at 60K miles. I have read where some people have put 3 transmissions in within the same miles you have. There is a kit that replaces these plastic parts with metal. I believe the year range of these is from 2002 - 2011.

Had the same problem yesterday, battery light came on and drive and reverse didnt work, the engine was kicking so i thought the transmission and alternator stop working at the same time? So i call my mechanic and he check it out and the simple solution was to replace the battery. The trans and alternator are working fine, the computer was not receiving enough power.

I'm curious Nicole did you ever get a resolution to this. I'm in the EXACT same boat you were in. Replaced the alternator and then immediately afterwards my van (also a 2006) started to feel like it was in neutral when accelerating. It's sporadic. Most of the time it rides great, but it seems (mostly on a cold start) that this happens when accelerating from a stop or going in reverse. I find it hard to believe the transmission starts acting up right when the alternator is replaced. Hoping you found something else out like maybe it was a voltage problem from a poor performing alternator.
