I dont know what is wrong with my 93 F250 gas 7l V8 460.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck will start at first with no problem it ran
good then it started sputtering on hot days and it
will stay running but my idle bounces and I can
floor it but my truck will barely move. I can let it
cool and it will run great again. I have recently
replaced the plugs & wires, I ran new vacuum hose.
I checked fuses and relays, I changed fuel filter but
didn't realize I was supposed to relieve the
pressure first I don't know if this is the cause or
what? I have had mechanics say it could be a
vapor lock. I also need to replace head gasket I
bought the kit today just haven't started it yet.
Really want to know what's going on before I
replace the head gasket?

try your idle control sensor if there is one for that transmission. I know a guy in a chev about 3 weeks ago had the same issue ( erratic idle). Find out if it exists for that Ford y m m. good luck
