Check engine light & VSC light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had my 2004 Highlander back end repaired from a fender bender accident.  Now the check engine light and VSC light are on.  Toyota service dept said I need 02 sensor replaced at $698.  Could the problem be caused from the accident or the recent collision repair work?

I just replaced one in my 2003. Check for a video instruction on YouTube and you can probably get it done for a little more than $100 to replace all 4. You could probably get 1 for less than $30 and if you can't get it done yourself, you're not getting gauged for the part.

I've got the VSC light issues too.. check your gas cap. It's always fixed mine, tighten it, pull your negative terminal off the battery for 10 minutes and then re install it, or reset with an obd machine if you have to, but mine has always been due to the gas cap being loose, I've found it goes away faster when I add gas and then do it good luck!

I had the same problem. Tightened the gas cap, pulled the negative terminal on the battery (HAD to do this step), put it back on, started car and lights were out. Thanks @Callmedusty
