how to disable alarm for avalon 1999? i installed a new battery and the alarm won't stop completely. it will stop after 30 seconds but then start again if I try to turn on the car. how

ow do i fix this??
the car has been sitting idle for 2 years.  
I purchased it and am installed a new battery.
however as soon as negative touches the battery, alarm goes off.  
after 30 seconds it will stop but will start again if i try to either turn the car on or lock and unlock doors.

Best thing is to contact Toyota. There are many ways to do this. They know best.

What a stupid answer Boho, take it to a dealer. That is your great advice?? Don't waste peoples time if you are not willing to help them. If I can find the answer I will post it

99avlon Toyota changed battery then put new battery into the remote and now I don't get no lights and it won't crank

Make sure all doors and trunk and hood is closed. Get out turn key in droves door to let 3 times. Hurry and hop in. Put key in b don’t turn it all the way then hurry and press alarm button it should stop. Keep trying if it doesn’t work the first time.

Thank you, Misstatig! I have tried about ten different recommendations and yours is the only one that worked! I turned my key 3 times to the unlock position in the door (to the right instead of the left), put the key in the ignition, turned to on position and pressed alarm button. Thank you so much!
