Front turn signal out but bulb is good

Asked by Michael Mar 10, 2018 at 05:37 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix dash says front turn
signal is out and I have the rapid blinker. However I
checked the bulb and it’s still good. Just to check I
even replaced it and still the same issue. Any
thoughts?

And all the other bulbs and signals are good front and rear, left and right?

All other bulbs are good. The running daylights left one is out as well. However the night time ones the bulb works. Even further more when the headlights are on and I signal it activates the brights.

Apparently there either was no such part or he forgot to attach it and didn't pay further attention to this thread. We're gurus not geniuses so these things happen from time to time. Does the bulb light up with the brakes? If it does you know its not the bulb or the wiring. If it doesn't check to make sure there's not a damaged wire which would act the same as a burned out bulb I would think. After that I would suggest the signal light switch in the steering column. That's a bit of a project though so be sure to do proper trouble shooting before diving into that project. I don't claim to understand how auto electrical works when something goes bad or shorts out. You may need to seek out a professional to do a hands on inspection.
