98 Grand Prix center brake lights dont work others do

Asked by albyg Sep 03, 2016 at 03:51 PM about the 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix 2 Dr GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Grand Prix. The third brake light does not work. checked bulbs
and they are fine. The side brake lights work fine.Although someone
remarked that one is dimmer then the other.
One other conicedence, this happened right after overloading trunk while
moving my daughter into colege, Wondering if I jammed a wire or something.

Since you think the bulbs and sockets are OK, it sounds like you will need to trace the wiring from the 3rd light back. It is likely to join the other brake light harness in the trunk, so you may want to start there. You may have pulled a connector apart inadvertently.
