Will a 3.8 engine fit into the 3.1 engine bay of my 96 grand prix se and will the old tranny hook straight up?

Threw a rod or damaged the head. Hard to find the
original 3100 3.1 v6. Might as well beef it up.

3.1 liter engines are a dime a dozen !!! They were put chevy Malibu's Pontiac gran ams ,gran prix's , Buick Century's just to name a few
