Won't charge

I have a 99 grand am gt with the 3.4 v6, it
runs great and drives great but the
alternator isn't charging the system, brand
new alternator and battery put in
yesterday, any ideas

Yes I did the previous owner put a new starter on it and put the wire in the wrong spot instead of putting it with the battery terminal where where it should have been he stuck it on the starter terminal and it did it made everything just do all kinds of funny weird s*** once I found that it pretty much fix itself
