engine wont turn over

i recently replaced my transmission in my car and ended up having a bad flex
plate so i went to replace it and i have taken the drive shaft, spark plugs, pully
is off, car in neutral, and is still wont rotate with a socket on the crankshaft pull
bolt what could it be?

Most likely have the new flex plate in a bind with the torque converter. you will most likely have to remove the transmission and ruining the front pump seal.
