Why does my driver side mirror move whenever I use my remote to unlock the doors??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited.
For the longest time we could not figure out why sometimes we would find the driver
side mirror in an outward and/or lowered position.  Sometimes it wouldn't do it for a
while then many times in a day.  Very aggravating.
Today we discovered why.  Whenever we hit the remote to unlock the car the mirror
moves outward and even outward and downward.  Even if the mirror is already in this
position I can see it pulses the mirror each time I hit unlock on the remote.
What is this all about and how can we stop it?
I can't tell you how much I hope you have an answer and how grateful I will be if you
do.
Kathee P.
We bought this car used so I do not know how long it has been doing this.

It turns out the auto seat adjustment #1 and #2 include the rearview mirror as well. somehow mine got set with the rearview mirror in a downward position so every time I unlocked the car it would put my seat into my set position and drop the mirror too! The reason it seemed to do it sometimes and not others is because I don't always lock the door!! I followed the instructions in the car manual and reset my positions and locked it in. Works fine now. Glad I didn't follow the suggestion of operator.13. Thanks anyway tho.
