Jeep not starting replaced everything

Asked by Mel2208 Feb 04, 2021 at 03:23 PM about the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay... this is going to be long.
The jeep at first kept dying when at an idle.
There were times would not start at all..
We ended up replacing the starter, battery, and
alternator. And THE SHIFTER! Come to find out
the cylinder walls were falling apart. Sooo..
7,000 dollars plus later after a new engine and
replacing the above mentioned...
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY I AM
STRANDED? I have had no problem after all the
parts were replaced. Until today. I went inside
to eat, an hour later... nothing! Everything turns
on but the engine.... I am at a loss.    Someone
said the shifting censor? Or the safety
something STD?? I  am frustrated... I just want
my jeep to start and  not leave me stuck
anymore..

Try to start the car with a jump from another vehicle. If it starts, replace the battery. If it doesn't, use a voltmeter and measure the voltage level between the battery posts (should be 12-14 volts). If that is good, you will need to determine where the loss of voltage is occurring. Maybe a cable connection at the battery or starter.
