Hyundai Elantra tuning
Asked by Trevon Dec 26, 2022 at 02:41 PM about the 2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL FWD
Question type: Car Customization
I just bought the brand new Hyundai Elantra
(upgraded the 2020 Elantra), and was wondering is it
possible to tune it in anyway? Maybe an engine swap
or even adding a turbo kit? Just wanted to see about
making this one fast.

Boy did you pick the wrong car. Everything you do to make it faster shortens it life dramatically, they have a very weak powertrain. Plus if you dare to do anything to it at all the warranty goes bye bye. Do yourself a favor and keep it stock and do exactly as the owners manual says in the maintenance section, this is the only to keep it alive beyond 80000 miles. The only thing I would ignore in the owners manual is the spark plug change interval, change them at 30000 and then switch to iridium plugs.
I read your response in my email. I do appreciate the feedback and getting back to me. You pretty much answered everything. Thank you again
Okay, great just one more thing, please read the owners manual. There is so much information that people just ignore that can really save you hundreds of dollars.
So you got a Hyundai but you wanted a BMW..... The easiest ways to improve performance on any car, and that includes yours, is to get a modified chip and add a turbocharger. Chips tune the engine to perform it its greatest potential and they're cheap. Adding a turbo kit will increase power the most efficient way, but they are somewhat expensive. After that, the only way you'll get any real improvement is to do engine internal work, but that can run to ten grand for a few more horsepower. So for effectiveness, just stick with the chip and turbo, and you'll run less risk of failing a smog test.
