Bad fuel consumption.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good day.
I have a problem with the fuel consumption of my
honda crv 2003 2.0. AWD Auto. When I bought it in
2012 the fuel consumption was 10km/l in town
and 11-12km/l on the highway. It was like that for
almost 2 years. Around 2014 it started to change.
Since then I get 7-8km/l in town and 9km/l on the
highway. End of 2015 I removed the cat and
installed a minicat. The fuel consumption stayed
the same. But another problem started after the
cat was changed. In the morning when I start the
car and drive about 100m when I stop and pull
away again it looses all its power and doesn't want
to accelarate. It very slowly accelerates and then
after that it is fine. It doesn't happen again. Can
you think of anything that I can check?

The fuel trims, Long term and Short term need to be checked. HEGOS could be to slow.. I suggest, having it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Some auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.

Thanks,I will have it checked out. I had diagnostics done on it but the machine they used only showed two readings. It didn't show any codes. The guy said it is because the computer reset itself after the minicat was installed.
