What all needs to be done in order to put a 318 into a dodge ram 1500 truck that originally had a 360? The 318 is from a 2001 and the truck I would like to put it in is a 1996

The only problem would be the electronic engine controls- if you were putting a carbed old 318 in, it would be easier- I would agree with Tom, but go a step further- just let the old Dodge go- to the junkyard- it ain't worth the trouble-

The 96 is the one that I'm wanting to put the 318 into. The 2001 is the one that has the 318 in it the 96 has a blown 360 in it. What if I just took the wiring harness out of the 2001 with the 318 and moved it & the motor into the 96? That's basically what I'm wanting to know is if the wiring harness from the 2001 needs to go out into the 96 or if the one that's in the 96 will match up with the 318?
