2019 RAM 5.7 Reving up

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2019 1500 5.7 and it does the same thing especially when I am on the
interstate it revs up and sounds like it is roaring loud for few seconds going in
and out, but nothing happens other then the sound! Very nerve racking. What
is it? Any recall?

Could it be shifting gears on it’s own? Do the RPMs go up when the sound happens? If so it could be a speed sensor problem or the TCM programming has a glitch and might need flashed.
It sounds as if the transmission is delaying shifting and causing the engine to rev like it's in neutral between gears. This is a common occurrence when transmission gears are faulty; it's called slipping. It might be very low fluid, or it might be excessive wear in the gears. Have a trans pro diagnose this.
