Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The odb connector is not working on my caravan.  Check engine light is on.  I
checked all the fuses and they are good.  Any suggestions?

look again there is a fuse specifically for ODB II connector this is the wire that powers a hand scanner or an emmision connector for state emission test .. if you look in manual and find the correct circuit and fuse is ok then get a flash light and look at connector close up if one of the pins isnt seated correctly and pushed back most likely this is the power circuit and pushing the pin in till it is firmly seated will fix the issue.. This most likely was not an accident and done intentionally .. during emission testing at least in PA if the enission testing machine / computer fails to communicate with the vehicle it will still pass the test and it will be noted on the test form.. the testing station is strictly forbiden during the test procedure to fix fuses or anything wrong on the car that is not part of the test (if they do they get fined and lose inspection license) this pass with no communication is so the state can say at end of year X amount of cars never communicated they do this to justify the emission test because modern cars dont pollute it is all the factories that pollute and never had to update .. if you car cannot pass emision backing out the power lead is one way to get a free pass ..do not remove bulb in check engine light in dash that is instant failure
