i have a 98 s10 2.2 5 speed that wont crank off the starter but i can rool start it. it will run till the batt goes dead

I have put a new starter on the truck and new battery in. it started 1 time off the key and will not crank off the key now I can roll start it and it will run great til the bat goes dead

so your battery goes dead while driving. Which means the alternator is bad and not charging the battery
