my engine runs cold but smells like its overheating and my heat is cold also. help

its a 93 geo tracker. i just replaced the thermostat.

I can't diagnose smells over the internet but what it might be is oil or coolant leaking onto the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe. When it smells hot open the hood and look for small amounts of smoke and try to see were it is coming from.

if marks answer didnt help you ...... try finding the heater coil behind the dash may have gone bad .... that will cause the same smell but no heat for the fan to blow out
