I changed the outside drivers side door latch and now the inside latch is not working well? What did I do wrong.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The out side door handle broke so I took the door apart and replaced it and it worked fine but when I put the door back together the inside door handle no longer wanted to open.  It would open if you pulled in on the door and pulled the door handle at the same time.  Now we have broken the inside hadle.  I want to repace it but would like to fix the mistake I must have made putting the outside handle in.

Hi Brendamae! It's hard to speak to what you might have done originally. Get yourself a new inside handle and install it. Then you can see if the problem crops up again before you put the door together completely. These are pretty simple mechanisms and you should be able to see where the problem lies. Good luck!
