2000 silverado cutting out?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Whenever I start my truck and drive it, it cuts out like its not getting fuel.. but once it runs for a while it drives just fine... Already replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, a friend thought maybe the fuel pressure regulator... any suggestions?

Leaky injectors, spider lines, & fuel regulator. Should do a fuel pressure bleed down test, by hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve on the intake. Build up fuel pressure with the truck at idle, should be 56 to 63 lbs at an idle. Turn off the truck, and watch the fuel pressure gauge. It should not drop more than 5 lbs in 3 minutes. If so, the injectors, spider lines, and fuel regulator should be replaced as a hole unit for best results.

I'm still placing my money on it being either a faulty/loose/corroded ground connection either in the instrument cluster or wiring harness. Or a dead short in one of the thousand or so accessories and conveniences that cam with the came on the truck......Sixteen years old??....Yep, it's about time to be thinking about faulty wires, bad connections, and "hidden" dead shorts, more than about mechanical issues.

Possible on this one Ed, but not likely, dirty injectors or a fuel pressure issue.
