Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 cavalier has suddenly started idling roughly after
it gets up to running temperature and acts like it's going
to stall out, while driving it feels like the transmission is
kinda slipping especially trying to pull a steep hill.
Sometimes it almost sounds like it's missing. this
happened over night no warnings at all what could be the
cause of these problems?
