what are the symptoms of a tripped anti theft system?

Asked by mumaalis Apr 01, 2018 at 07:29 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Question type: General

So I drove to panera and my car(2008 malibu) started up as normal and
everything seemed fine until I went to leave. I tried to use my key fab to unlock
my car and it didn't work so I used my key. when I went to put my key In the
ignition and turn it on it almost was action like I had a dead battery but it
defiantly wasn't dead. and on my dash the symbol with a car with a lock
popped up as well as my engine light and it started making a ticking sound. at
first I thought it was because my gas light was on and I needed gas so I went
and got some and of course that wasn't the problem. but when I came back
from getting gas it sounded like the ticking was significantly louder, and then
after 10 min my car completely died. there was no dash lights or anything
when I tried to turn the car on but my phone chargers was plugged into the
cigarette lighter port and was lit up. what do you think is wrong with it?
