The same happened to me except I still cannot unlock my doors with the new key. If your steering wheel is locked and has tension on it, try wiggling the steering wheel AND key at the same time. You may need to wear the edges of the key a bit. The old key and ignition wear down over time. using fine sandpaper wear off just a little bit at a time on both edges.
