Stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Hyundai Santa FE. Today I put wiper fluid. power steering fluid and 2 quarts in. About an hour or so later I was driving to work, stopped at a red light when the car just stalled. All the lights on the dash board came on. I quickly threw it in park and restarted and drove off. A few minutes later I got onto the highway. I had the gas pedal completely to the floor and would not accelerate. I was able to pull off to the shoulder of the road, where I shut the car off for about 5 minutes then restarted, and was able to continue on to work with no trouble. I get off work in a few hours and I'm scared to death of what might happen on the way home. Anyone have any ideas or clues as to what may be going on??

It might just be a coincidence that it runs terrible after servicing those things under the hood. If you have a check engine light then something is going on and you should have it scanned for problem codes. Sometimes on an older car a fuel pump or filter will act like that and set no codes. Need a pressure test or listen for fuel pump to prime up on start up. Drive it to repair shop if you can do so safely. Maybe save a towing fee. Have them look at it. May be nothing serious.
