What would cause an 05 Chevy Cobalt to not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed? It doesn't rev or anything and there is no check engine light or any other warning lights.

Did the cable end come off the throttle body out underneath the hood ? You might have to remove a plastic piece from the throttle body in order to see the cable end. If the car is electrically controlled throttle then I would ask if the connector came loose at the throttle body.
