We have an 87 Comanche 4x4 need to know if it has the quadra-trac or command trac ? It's a 5 speed with the 4.0 L and has posi-trac.

Need help with identifing the transfer case  in 87 Comanche 4x4.

You can tell by looking at the tag on the transfer case. It is located on the rear of the case near the housing of the rear drive shaft. The tag is round and will say either New Process 231 or 242. The 231 is the command trac (4 wheel drive) and the 242 is the Quadratrac (all wheel drive). I don't think they came that year with either the Quadratrac or posi trac.
