My dodge durango 2007 cranks and
drive but its making a loud ticking
noise under the hood

What motor? were is the noise coming from? top,top left,top right,bottom?

Feel the top of the valve cover. If you can feel any vibration, it may be than an oil baffle has come loose from the inside of the valve cover. Had this issue with my Jeep.
